Hooray! We've started! Great turn out for our first Community Chorus rehearsal. Fantastic to see everyone. It was lovely to have Alex (Choreographer) and Lissa (Assistant Director) along with us too.
In this blog I'll keep a note of what we've looked at, and (eventually!) details of which learning aid tracks to listen to. (Learning aids are recordings with individual lines highlighted to help chorus members learn parts!).
So on our first night, here's what we did.
1) Warm up with Alex, Lissa, and me (Katy) and Beth
We focused on posture and relaxation with Alex, broke some ice with Lissa and learnt a greeting song from me in the vocal warmup.
2) Bell Chorus
We looked at the p.33-35 in the Bell Chorus, starting at b.89, through to b.112. We had a very quick look at the alto/tenor line on p.36.
We used a crib sheet to help remember how many repeated things there are. It might be useful to mark this into your score - as illustrated in the pic below. Here's a link to the crib sheet.
